333 Fredericton Air Cadet Squadron was chartered on the 16th of October 1943 and was originally formed as a high school squadron. In 1958, Lord Beaverbrook, then Chancellor of the University of New Brunswick, gave the squadron permission to carry his name. A native of N.B., Lord Beaverbrook had been Minister of Aircraft Production in Winston Churchill’s cabinet during World War II. The Squadron was also named as the permanent custodian of Lord Beaverbrook’s personal coat of arms designed by Rudyard Kipling in 1917.

Parents!!! This section is very important for you to read!!!

The Carleton Street Armoury will only be accessible by the Gated Entrance facing Carleton Street (across from the Fredericton Public Library). Do not attempt to access the building using the Riverside  door. The door will be controlled by a Duty Officer at all times. The following 5 questions will be asked to all cadets before they enter the building. If your child answers any of the 5 questions with a "Yes" answer, your child will not be allowed to enter the building. This means that you should not leave until your child tells you he/she is cleared to enter the building. Parents are not permitted inside the Armoury as this will affect the mandated Indoor Gathering Restriction. This is also because we need to have complete control of the building.

Here are the 5 questions that will be asked:

1) Are you experiencing any severe difficulty breathing or severe chest pain?

2) Are you experiencing any mild or moderate shortness of breath or unable to lay down due

to being short of breath?

3. Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms?

    - new or worsening cough?

    - an increased temperature?

    - feeling of fever or chills?

    - experiencing muscle aches?

    - loss of smell or taste?

    - feeling unwell?

    - Have/had any upset stomach or diarrhea?

4) Have you travelled outside the Atlantic provinces or Canada within the last 14 days (including the

United States)?

5) In the last 14 days, have you had close contact with a person with symptoms of COVID-

19 or who has travelled outside the Atlantic provinces?

Again, if your cadet answers "Yes" to any of the questions your cadet will not be allowed entry into the building. We will ask that your cadet remains away from physical cadet activities for two weeks prior to an attempt to return.

We ask that your cadet brings a Community Non-Medical Face Mask while attending Physical Training. They will be expected to keep their mask on during the entire evening or morning. If your cadet does not own a face mask, one will be provided upon their arrival.

Once they have entered the Armoury, cadets will undergo a short orientation to go over the rules and guidelines established for the building. This will include the contact tracing sheet, general guidelines, sanitization, traffic orientation and restrictions, common areas, and expectations.

Should you have any questions with regards to COVID-19 Safety Guidelines, please feel free to contact Captain Allain at the following address (philippe.allain@cadets.gc.ca).

REMINDER: Lt Jennings would like you all to try on your uniforms to see what fits and to report what doesn't. Also, if you haven't measured yourself for the new field training uniform, please do so and send Lt Jennings your measurements. Finally for those who still have loaned instruments, please let Lt Jennings know what you have in your possession. You can email Lt Jennings at ryan.jennings@cadets.gc.ca
